At PSSI, employee safety is not only a priority, but a core value of our business. PSSI has a safety team of more than 60 people, including former OSHA compliance representatives, division safety managers and technical service experts across the country, dedicated to supporting and advancing employee safety. Over the years, we have dedicated a significant amount of time and countless resources around developing procedures, protocols, and training programs designed to help keep our employees safe. One of the main safety initiatives is around cleaning blenders and mixers.
Cleaning blenders and mixers by energizing has been an industry standard for years. But it also comes with risks. Because safety is our top priority, we have developed new solutions to maximize efficiency and minimize risk. Those include:
- Designing tools to manually turn blenders and mixers without needing to energize
- Implementing secondary guarding measures to reduce energizing risks
- Developing self-cleaning equipment for conveyor belts to reduce the risk of injury
Having a partner who values employee safety at the highest level will help to ensure quality and consistency in food safety and sanitation services, as well as improved productivity with less disruptions.
