Townhall Recap: “A Lot of Good Things Going On”

Last Thursday, PSSI held the second townhall meeting of 2024 where CEO, Tim Mulhere discussed the quarterly progress, highlighting the company’s commitment to safety and compliance. Tim was also joined by Chief Human Resources Officer Jeanette Bruni who covered new initiatives for PSSI team members.

Tim kicked off the townhall discussing the idea of balance, noting that in the last few years the team has a tendency to focus on things the company isn’t doing well, which is “healthy” as we work on correcting issues.  However, the team also needs to recognize the good things they are accomplishing. For instance, in the first quarter PSSI realized record new business and a record number of new installations. And year-to-date 72% of our sites have reported no safety incidents.

Tim shared a story from one of PSSI’s customers who said the compliance work PSSI is doing has been recognized within their company and across the industry. As Tim noted, the fact that our compliance progress is being acknowledged across the industry validates the work we are all doing.

He also reported that the Code of Conduct is working, sharing another anecdote from a customer who called with concerns about several issues. Citing the Code of Conduct, Chief Compliance Officer Diego Alvarez was able to inform the customer that the issue had already been addressed—the customer expressed gratitude that swift action had already been taken.

Tim turned the townhall over to Jeanette who highlighted the Employee Appreciation month activities in March and announced that a 2024 Culture and Engagement Survey will be distributed via email on May 13th.  The anonymous survey will ask about ways leadership and improvements they could make in the future. This will help leadership shape a workplace designed for team members. Jeanette encouraged all team members to fill out the survey, stressing honesty and the need to have your voice heard so that leadership can understand concerns, and address them.

She also announced a new leadership development program — Elevate. While Jeanette acknowledged that team members have received a great deal of training in recent months, these sessions are different in that they are highly interactive with participants breaking out into peer groups. The new program will launch with two pilot groups in May.

After Jeanette spoke, Tim wrapped up the townhall by emphatic that, “We have a lot of positive momentum,” and encouraged team members to continue to focus on several areas, including safety and compliance.
