For PSSI, Spring Cleaning is Year-Round

Spring is officially here (at least according to the calendar) which typically means that Americans will take the opportunity for some spring cleaning. Did you know that dates back to ancient times? Traditionally, the refreshing and cleaning at home represented a way to leave the winter behind and enter a new season of rebirth with a clean “environment and sense of mental clarity and freshness.”

The spring cleaning mindset is year round for PSSI team members who are focused on providing the highest standards of sanitation to our customers. Our scientifically-verified 8-Step Sanitation Process is the foundation of our work, underpinning our commitment to keeping food processing plants clean so that Americans can consume food products with peace of mind.

The 8 steps are:

  1. Dry pickup
  2. First rinse
  3. Apply detergent to surfaces and hand scrub
  4. Rinse and inspect
  5. Remove and assemble
  6. Preoperative inspection
  7. Sanitizing
  8. Documentation

Every step in the Sanitation Process is crucial to ensure there are no missing gaps. It’s why we finish every service with comprehensive documentation. We do this to provide customers with transparency and confidence as they start their workday and to also help in preparation for any audits.

PSSI team members take the extra step and go beyond nightly cleaning services, handling everything cleanliness-related. That includes scheduling and verifying non-daily cleaning tasks as well as identifying potential hazards related to food safety. At the end of the day, we know that reliable cleaning results depend upon an effective sanitation program.

We also know that compliance is a major component of any effective sanitation program and PSSI is committed to exceeding the industry standards. Under the guidance of Diego Alvarez, our experienced Chief Compliance Officer, we have implemented frequent audits, spot inspections, and enhanced training programs. As Tim Mulhere said in a February townhall, “we do everything we do with compliance in mind.”

Our commitment to proven sanitation processes that ensure facilities are safe, clean, and audit-ready is unwavering. PSSI’s customers have high expectations when it comes to sanitation and compliance—we intend to continue meeting them.
