A child’s job is to learn, play, make memories with their loved ones, and stay curious about the world around them. With back-to-school season gearing up in just a few short weeks, we are reminded of the vital responsibility we all must ensure the safety and security of children in our communities.
As part of PSSI’s No Minors Pledge – our zero-tolerance policy against the employment of minors – we’ve reached out to many school systems in the areas we serve to equip them with our “See Something, Say Something” toll-free hotline. Administrators and teachers can anonymously call to report issues if they suspect children in their classroom may have ties to dangerous work outside of school. We encourage teachers to watch for signs of potential exploitation and immediately voice suspicions. PSSI has instituted rigorous measures in all our facilities to ensure that no minors are employed, and we encourage community members to partner with us to do the same.
The “No Minors Pledge” is central to PSSI’s compliance protocols. It strictly forbids anyone under 18 to enter or work in a PSSI-serviced facility and includes language that directs supervisors to actively look for anyone who might be underage. The pledge mandates that all concerns or offenses be reported promptly to the We Care hotline (844-880-0009); and appropriate action is taken to warn others.
We all are have a responsibility to care for our young people and protect their well-being. PSSI strongly believes that education is the key to the success of the children in the communities we serve. That’s why children should thrive most where they belong: the classroom.
