| MULTI-AGENCY RECORDS SYSTEM FOR TOTAL INTEROPERABILITY MEDICAL REPORTING SOFTWARE The Emergency Management-Based Reporting System (EMBRS) is an efficient Fire & EMS records management system. The system performs the data storage, retrieval, reporting, and State/Local Medical submission functions required by today's EMS communities. PSSI designed the system to provide a streamlined data entry process facilitating a natural flow and eliminating repetitive data entry. SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION The EMBRS software utilizes a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) designed using Microsoft's Visual Basic. The client operates on multiple (NT, 2000, and XP) Windows-based operating systems. The server operates on the Windows NT and 2000 server platforms. Microsoft's SQL Server (7.0 and 2000) is used as the relational database to provide maximum flexibility for reporting and querying. Since SQL Server is ODBC compliant the system will also support a multitude of 3rd party report, query, OLAP, and data mining software. The windows environment provides a familiar 'look and feel' to the system including such features such as pull down menus, online help, scroll bars, cut and paste, and point-and-click operation while also allowing for keyboard interaction for those who prefer the keyboard over the mouse. The simplicity of screen layouts provides a user-friendly presentation of data in easy to read formats. EMBRS MODULES EMBRS is comprised of a variety of modules all working together to provide a fully integrated NFIRS 5.0, decision support, and station and unit management system. The flow of data follows actual procedures followed by departments throughout the US. Because of this the system can be learned quickly and used by a variety of personnel including firefighters, supervisors, administrators, and fire inspectors. In addition to providing user-friendly access and presentation of data, pre-coded data fields are used to speed the data entry process. Additional EMS/Medical reporting criteria can be met by user entered reporting codes. This provides a user defined reporting standard to meet state or local medical reporting requirements. PSSI strives (through customization if necessary) to meet all various state reporting requirements. |
