MULTI-AGENCY RECORDS SYSTEM FOR TOTAL INTEROPERABILITY ICIS, Incident/Crime Information System, is a comprehensive, UCR and NIBRS-compliant, interactive law enforcement records management system that performs all data storage and retrieval functions necessary for the efficient operation of your agency. PSSI designed the ICIS system to streamline the data entry process, improve quality and completeness of data, and provide powerful investigative capabilities for your law enforcement agency. The data sharing within the ICIS system reduces redundant data entry and provides storage of reported information. The ICIS system provides the ability to eliminate numerous 3rd party systems that your law enforcement agency may currently use. SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION The completely graphical
environment of the ICIS system utilizes a user- friendly graphical user
interface (GUI) designed using Microsoft's GUI development tool, Visual
Basic. The software operates on a Windows-based PC workstation as the
client with a Windows NT server as well. Microsoft's SQL Server is used
as the relational database to provide maximum flexibility for reporting
and querying through a full SQL interface for decision support and management
functions. The windows environment provides a familiar 'feel' to the
system for the operators and includes features such as pull down menus,
help features, scroll bars, point-and-click operation to choose functions
and a user-friendly presentation of data in easy to read formats and
windows. However, the operator also has the preference to use the keyboard
for functions instead of the mouse, according to their individual preference. ICIS is comprised of a variety of modules that all work together to provide a totally integrated system. This integration allows for data to be shared between modules and thus requires no redundant data entry. The flow of data follows actual procedures followed by many departments and therefore can be quickly learned and used by a variety of personnel including officers, supervisory personnel, MIS personnel, etc. In addition to providing a user-friendly access and presentation of data, the coded data fields are entered/maintained by the agency to facilitate the data entry process Over 150 Canned Reports, Integrated Ad-Hoc Reporting, and the ability to print departmental report forms. |
